Rain of awards for the wines of Tenute del Cerro: four labels awarded by Gambero Rosso and Veronelli

  • 05/12/2022

After the international awards, Gambero Rosso and Veronelli also reward the wines of Tenute del Cerro. In fact, there are four labels awarded by the two prestigious Italian guides, which every year turn the spotlight on the best national wineries: among these there are also Fattoria del Cerro and La Poderina. Let's find out which wines have triumphed.

Fattoria del Cerro triumphs with its Vino Nobile: “Silìneo" and “Antica Chiusina" awarded

Fattoria del Cerro celebrates two awards attributed to its Vino Nobile DOCG.

Also for the 2019 vintage, the "Silìneo" conquers the "Three glasses" of the Gambero Rosso Italian Wine Guide, this is the sixth consecutive year, a real record. The prestigious publication, which reviews around 20,000 wines every year, has awarded this fine wine the highest score.

The Nobile DOCG "Antica Chiusina" of 2018 also deserves a special toast, winning the coveted Three Gold Stars of "I Vini di Veronelli". In the guide, created by the “Associazione per la Cultura del Vino degli Alimenti", this label is present with an evaluation of 94 points

Fattoria del Cerro thus consolidates its position in the national wine panorama and condenses the close union between product, territory and recognition on the market. The historic production site of Acquaviva in Montepulciano represents the largest private company dedicated to Vino Nobile and covers 600 hectares, of which 181 are vineyards and 93 registered in the Vino Nobile Register. The "Silìneo" and the "Antica Chiusina" are born here, from the processing of Prugnolo Gentile grapes: to discover and appreciate them, it is possible to treat yourself to a visit to the cellar with tasting, perhaps before a walk in the vineyards, to be done on an e-bikes.

Moscadello and Brunello from Poderina estate among the Italian excellences

La Poderina also closes 2022 on a high note and celebrates an important success: two of its flagship wines are present in the Veronelli Guide 2023. They are Moscadello di Montalcino 2016 and Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG Poggio Abate, also for the 2016 vintage. The two labels received the Three Gold Stars and, respectively, 94 and 95 points. This recognition adds prestige to two iconic products from the Castelnuovo dell'Abate winery. Here, in front of the suggestive Sant'Antimo Abbey, in the Val D'Orcia Natural Park, the Estate produces its wines respecting traditional methods, but always following the latest generation techniques. A real ritual, which is repeated from season to season following the strict protocols established by the various regulations: from ripening to bottling, the production phase of these two special wines is an ancient practice that can be discovered by booking a guided tour with tasting in the cellar, the best way to get in touch with the territory and its most authentic history.

Thanks to recent awards Tenute del Cerro has added a new piece to its production history, strengthening the prestige of its brands, always an expression of the excellence of the territory.
